Band
Ten years is something few bands achieve. For Finland's My Fate, it's just the beginning.
Despite an impressive past catalogue of three EP's and two albums, the new album "Room for Regret" lifts this five-piece outfit to a new level. The songs, the performances and the production are all filled with deep passion and professional quality.
Vocalist Jukka Ruostila, guitarists Jaakko Järvensivu and Mikko Lehtinen, bassist Roope Lehtinen and drummer Vilho Rajala spent 13 months recording the new album. The recording took place at Adamantium Studios, Werstas Studio and even the band's rehearsal place. Everything was done completely on their own except the mixing, which was handled by Henkka Virsell.
"Room for Regret" is a dark and furious record. It captures the true sound of My Fate with it's uncompromising diversity.
The band has always strived for music that is soulful, heavy and aggressive. One of their main principles is to never repeat themselves. "Room for Regret" combines the super-heavy, pounding grooves of "Forgot the Sun" and "Giant Collapse" to the ultrafast thrash attack of "Snap" and "Won't You Already Die". And yet everything is in perfect balance.
As convincing the new album sounds, My Fate is not there yet. The second decade has just begun.
